Carla’s Pasta Recipe for Baked Mac & Cheese

Serving Size



3 lb Bag of Carla's Cavatelli
8 oz. Butter
6 oz. All-Purpose Flour
1 tsp. Salt
1/8 tsp. black pepper
1 Tbs. Dijon Mustard
2 Qt. Whole Milk
1 Qt. Heavy Cream
1 Qt. Cheddar, Shredded
1 Qt. Mozzarella, Shredded
Breadcrumbs & Parmesan for topping



1. Melt butter in sauce pan over medium heat.
2. Add AP flour to butter, whisk together to form a roux. Cook until light tan in color.
3. Stir in salt, pepper, and Dijon Mustard.
4. Whisking continuously, pour in the milk and cream.
5. Bring to a simmer, stirring often.
6. Mix in the cheeses gradually, stirring until smooth and no stringiness remains.
7. Pour hot sauce over frozen cavatelli, mix well.
8. Top with breadcrumbs, parmesan, and bake.
